Quality Assurance
Organisational structure and responsibilities of QA at departmental level
The Department's Quality Assurance (QA) system is integrated with and works in coordination with the University's QA system. It is structured on the basis of the guidelines provided by the University Quality Assurance Committee (PQA), which oversees the implementation of QA procedures in its role as liaison with the peripheral structures responsible for QA.
Department Directors are responsible for quality improvement policies regarding activities and services related to research and the third mission/social impact of their Department, as well as support for teaching in the degree programmes and PhD programmes affiliated with the Department.Department Directors share responsibility for improving teaching quality with Programme Coordinators and PhD Programme Coordinators. The Department plans, monitors and reviews departmental activities within the scope of its three missions (teaching, research and third mission/social impact) by drawing up a departmental plan, in line with the University's strategic plan, specifically defining objectives and actions (accompanied by indicators and targets). The results of departmental planning are monitored and reviewed annually. To carry out these activities, the Department makes use of research and third mission/social impact committees that support the Department Director.
The documentation relating to the planning, monitoring and review of departmental plans is shared and approved by the Departmental Council, in accordance with the deadlines established by the PQA.
